Operation Christmas Child

A Ministry of Samaritan's Purse

Gift Shoeboxes Will Be Collected Sunday, November 13, 2016

Every autumn, the Reformed Church of Poughkeepsie joins with churches around the world to provide gift boxes "to show God's love in a tangible way to needy children around the world," and "to share the good news of Jesus Christ." Members of our congregation are once again participating in this program for 2016.

The premise of the program is simple: you choose to fill a shoebox with gifts for a boy or a girl of a certain age. Find a empty shoebox in your closet, or ask a local shoe retailer for an extra shoebox, decide whether you are choosing a boy or a girl, and begin filling the box with gifts.

We also ask that you include a check for $7 inside each gift box to help defray the shipping costs. Please make the checks payable to Samaritan's Purse and write OCC on the Memo line of the check.

Samaritan's Purse has a web page available to help you in filling these gift boxes, as well as giving more details on the program and who benefits from the program. The web page can be found by following this link.

Shoe boxes will be collected at worship service on Sunday, November 15, 2012.
