The Reverend Dave Hondorp began serving as interim pastor of our congregation in the summer of 2014 after the retirement of the Reverend Dr. E. Robert Geehan.

"Reverend Dave" has a long history of service to congregations throughout the Hudson Valley. Many know him from his nearly 20 years as pastor at the Hopewell Reformed Church, where he is currently Pastor Emeritus. Others know him from one or more of his many interim pastor positions in the Hudson Valley, serving the congregations of the Old Dutch Church in Kingston, Fair Street Church in Kingston, Rhinebeck Reformed Church, Pleasant Plains Presbyterian Church in Staatsburg, First Presbyterian Church of Pleasant Valley, Lyall Memorial Federated Church in Millbrook, ous sister church Fishkill Reformed Church, and those occasions where he served as pastor for us when Pastor Geehan was away from the pulpit for a week. If you think that this list of interim pastorships is impressive, consider this: most of these tenures were for about two years each.

Reverend Hondorp was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and received his Bachelor of Arts from Hope College and his Masters in Divinity from Western Theological Seminary, both institutions of the Reformed Church in America and both located in Holland, Michigan. Before beginning his pastorship at the Hopewell Reformed Church in 1978, he served as minister to the Central Reformed Church in Paterson, New Jersey and Grace Reformed Church in Brooklyn.

Dave and his wife Marvelle had six children and six grandchildren, sadly losing a grandson and a son. They are grateful that their family all lives relatively nearby.
