Of Special Interest
Note: The following
event isn't a "recent" event but we have chosen to leave it posted
as a tribute to a beloved sister in the Fairfield Church family.
After a valiant struggle with cancer, Diana Rowland went home to be with
the Lord on January 8, 2008.
The EverReady Circle hosted
a "Victorian Tea" on Saturday, April 21, 2007. The event was open to
the community and featured a special presentation on the art of quilting
by church family member and local artisan, Diana Rowland. Diana grew up in Verona, has lived in Montclair for many years, and has
been a member of the Fairfield Reformed Church for 10 years.
Although she has done embroidery for 30 years, she began quilting in the
mid- 1990's and days quilts and embroidery are all over her house,
changed from time to time by season and whim. All of her quilts
and embroidery are made completely by hand. She explained that, to
the extent it is possible, she wants her work to celebrate the beauty
and order of God, in whom are the attributes of beauty, truth, and order
in their ultimate state. Click on a picture below to see an enlarged version, then click your
