BRUC Adopts A Chaplain

Names will appear on the “Healing and “Grieving” lists for (1) month and maybe renewed.

Youth Mission Trip
Hosted by our Church - July 2010
July 25-31, our church hosted a group of about 30 youth and adults from the Richmond area of Virginia under the direction of Rev. Greg Wood, Pastor of Tazewell Presbyterian Church along with Rev. Janet James, from Gayton Kirk and Rev Charles Poindexter, Interim Rector of Epiphany Episcopal Church. These folks were here on a mission trip visiting and helping out at a number of missions run our Presbyterian churches in NYC. They slept on the floors of our Fellowship Hall and downstairs Classroom. We were happy to provide their first meal upon their arrival.
SUPPORT & APPRECIATION
The group invited the congregation for dessert and discussion and a "thank you" with them on Tuesday evening, July 27. Accepting the invitation, the congregation showed their support to these Christian youth as they grow and mature in the mind of Christ!

A big thank you for your hard work and gracious involvement in providing a meal for the youth from Virginia. They were really tired and hungry and we provided them a warm welcome and much needed hospitality. I'll see you on Tuesday evening. I, for one, went home tired but happy.Pastor Jane

Guest Speaker, Executive Director Rob Bell gave a brief presentation during coffee hour showing the work his group is doing
to supply drinking water and sanitation facilities in remote villages.
The Board presented Mr. Bell with a check for $500 to help with his work
at El Provenir in Nicaragua.
