A Place to Serve Athenia Reformed Church at its heart is a congregation with a heart for mission: sharing the Good New of God's caring love made known to us in Jesus Christ with others in our community and in the world. Our mission in the Athenia Community of Clifton: - Athenia generously provides for those in need around us. We gather food for those in need and offer inexpensive clothing and household goods to our neighbors at semi-annual rummage sales. We hold food drives with donations being given to St. Peter's Haven of Clifton, New Jersey. - Athenia reaches out to the community by providing meeting space for a variety of community groups and service organizations, including Brownie & Daisy troops, chapters of Alcoholics Anonymous and Daughters of the American Revolution. - Athenia is home to the New Hope School, serving children from K-8. - Athenia joins hands with mission and service organizations throughout New Jersey. Congregation members have provided leadership and volunteer support to a host of civic and community organizations. In addition, the congregation makes regular contributions to groups such as the Salvation Army, the Red Cross, the Adopt a Child Campaign, and Church World Service and Christian relief agencies. |
