Basement cleanup and new ceiling (14 images)
Before and after shots of the pre-cleanup and rifle range ceiling..

When was the last time you visited our shooting range? You didn't realize we had a shooting range? Let us take this chance to take you "Down Under" the church and let you see some of the things the Property Committee has been doing. Part one of the "Basement Purge" was completed on April 2nd. Gary Hickey, Bonnie Dickinson and John Gottschall cleaned out three rooms in the basement for use by Missions Committee, and the Salvation Army. Part two will happen on May 13th. We'll be renting a dumpster, and hope to clean out the remainder of the basement. We plan on taking no prisoners; any unclaimed items left in the basement WILL be thrown out. Our goal is that by getting rid of all the refuse, we can properly organize the space we have and fulfill our Mission of assisting the local community. Food will be provided on the 13th and Ray Evangelista will be the grill master. We hope you can join us on May 13th, for a day of hard work and good company. The other major project we've been undertaking is the installation of a fire-rated ceiling above the shooting range. As you can see from the pictures, the ceiling was exposed wood, which was directly underneath the Sanctuary. If a fire were to break out here, a similar tragedy as befell Westside Presbyterian a few years ago might have happened here. The ceiling is intended to slow a fire long enough to allow the Fire Department to respond. The work was performed by 'On the Spot' Construction and we are very pleased with their work.
