Pastor Installation

Installation

On Sunday, February 8, 2009 Rev. Terrence O'Brien was installed as pastor of the Reformed Church of Saugerties.

Rev. O'Brien is the 16th pastor in the 157 year history of the church which opened its doors in 1852. The afternoon ceremony, which was open to the public, was well attended. Over a dozen ministers and representatives in the Mid-Hudson Classis of the Reformed Church in America, as well as religious leaders throughout the community, were present for the service.

Members of the church were joined by Greg Helsmoortel, Saugerties Town Supervisor, and Congressman Maurice Hinchey. The uplifting celebration, rich with tradition, was woven together beautifully with music from the church's sanctuary choir under the direction of Brad Siebeking and renowned organist/music director Ken Dake of Marble Collegiate in New York City. Guests gathered at a reception immediately following the service.
