On Sunday, September 11th the Reformed Church of Saugerties will join together with the greater Ulster community for the third annual service of peace and remembrance. This 7:00pm ecumenical service at Cantine Park in Saugerties will promote world peace while remembering those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. The service will be outside under the lights of the Teddy Lorenz Baseball field. Should there be rain we will move into the Senior Community Center on Market St. Music will be led by a combined choir and the service will include clergy from five denominations and ten churches taking part.
Those attending will take an active part in the evening through the lighting of hand held votive candles during a moment of remembrance. Children will join in as well by hanging origami cranes on a peace wall. The interfaith service will be led musically by Bob Waldele and will enlist the talents of a wide cross section of gifted musicians and singers from throughout the Hudson Valley.
Those attending are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or a blanket; something comfortable to sit on, and be a voice for the promotion of world peace.
