The Parkway Community Church is the owner-operator of the First
Step Nursery School in Hicksville. First Step Nursery School
has operated at The Parkway Community Church for over 25 years
and it provides a non-religious pre-school experience for
children ages 2-4 in 2-day, 3-day or 5-day sessions. The focus
is on social skills and basic academic learning to prepare a
child to enter kindergarten.
First Step Nursery School operates September into June.
Registrations for the September 2009-June 2010 classes are now
available, and if you would like further information or if you
would like to schedule a meeting call Miss Jo at 516-938-4080.
"The School is part of our wider service to our community,"
says Pastor Lay. "Over 30 other community groups use our
building every month. This includes many self-help, 10-step
groups. And, of course, we provide spiritual services also. In
the vision of our founding pastor, the Rev. Douglas MacDonald,
we are a Christian church providing for the many needs of our
surrounding community."
