Pastor Dick

Rev. Dick Brian Klaver - Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, however, most of his early days, were spent in California. He attended Calvin College but graduated from UCLA. Upon graduation, he worked with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, then in banking, then as an administrative assistant for Michigan State Senator Stephan Monsma. He received a dual Masters Degree in Marriage-and-Family Therapy and Divinity from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California. Dick wrote the book Men at Peace - help for men struggling with rage or depression.

After a few years as a marriage-and-family therapist, he received a call to begin Family Life Ministry at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. His second church was First Reformed Church of Glenville, NY. And now he has been Ferry's pastor since 1999. He met Kriste, another UCLA student and his wife of 30 years, at a bus stop at 20th Street and Wilshire Blvd. in Santa Monica. They have three sons: Matthew, Micah and George. [e-mail Pastor Dick]

Pastor Nick & Pastor Amy

Rev. Amy de Groot Bowling, Associate Pastor of Youth and Family - Amy was born in warm Albuquerque, New Mexico, and raised in the snowy neighborhoods of New Brighton, Minnesota (a suburb of St. Paul). She attended Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois, majoring in psychology and church education. In her free time she likes to read, snowshoe, bike, write notes to old friends, and travel.

Rev. Nicholas Bowling, Associate Pastor of Youth and Family - Nicholas grew up milking cows on a dairy farm in Gibbsville, Wisconsin. Along with hard work, Nick had plenty of time to ride go-carts, swim in their pond with his dog Duke, and create mini golf courses on the farm. Nick also attended Trinity Christian College, where he majored in philosophy and theology. Nick and Amy became friends their freshman year at college, and were married in 2001. [e-mail Pastor Nick]

After graduation, Nick and Amy attended Calvin Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan for a year, then attended Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan for two years. They both graduated in the spring of 2003 with Masters of Divinity degrees. Since October 2003 Nick and Amy have been sharing one position as Pastor of Youth and Family. In the time they have been here, Nick and Amy both have enjoyed working at Ferry Memorial and found it a good place to call home; they are also thankful that Ferry has been very supportive of them as a clergy couple.

Gloria Rademaker, Administrative Assistant - Gloria is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and has worked in a variety of vocations - health club manager, retail sales associate, bank teller, public and private school teacher, and secretary. She especially appreciates working at Ferry Memorial with a great team of caring individuals who are dedicated to Christ. Gloria has three sons in their early 20's who are the joy of her heart. She enjoys gardening, walking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. [e-mail Gloria]
