The Church Family Dinner, June 8, 2014

A "Family Dinner" was held at the Community Reformed Church on Sunday, June 8, 2014. This was in place of the Church Picnic usually held.

The dinner was well attended by members of the church. who sampled the variety of fare prepared by and donated by church members.

The dinner began with appetizers served at 7:00 PM, followed by entertainment provided by "The Meadowettes" and "The GloriGals." They dazzled the audience with their costumes as well as by their dance numbers. There were also several songs done solo by the performers, and a demonstration of "old school" Lindy dancing by a couple.

Following the entertainment, the dinner moved into the "feast" phase, done buffet style. This was when the kitchen volunteers and servers performed their starring roles in the event. Also stars were Irma Saia and Congregational Care, who planned and carried out the event, and the unsung heroes who had labored over the cookstoves at home.

A good time was had by all who attended.

All of this was observed by Joan Kruegel and her faithful camera. Here are some pictures of the event, taken by Joan . . . Thanks, Joan.
