Bay Ridge on the Narrows in the shadow of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, like Brooklyn is marked by social diversity. Its one- and two-family homes and mid-rise apartment buildings along Shore Road and 4th Avenue have helped it retain its "small-town character." Public and private elementary schools are excellent and the public junior high schools are being reformatted as smaller, magnet schools. Choice of public high school varies from nationally known Stuyvesant in Manhattan to the local Fort Hamilton with its football team, marching band and swimming pool. Many private high schools are also available.
The local police precinct has one of the lowest crime rates in the city.

Queens Expressway (BQE)/I-278 W toward the
Verrazano
Bridge . Take
6th Avenue (Exit 20). Turn
right onto 6th Avenue
. Then left onto
Bay Ridge Parkway.
From
Staten Island
:
Take I-278 E
towards the Verrazano
Bridge . Take Exit 18 For Fort
Hamilton Parkway. Merge onto 7th Avenue/Fort Hamilton Parkway.
Continue to follow 7th Avenue. Turn left at 75th Street/Bay Ridge
Parkway. Church will be on the left between 6th and 7th Avenues.
From the
Belt Parkway :
Take the
Belt Parkway West until
Exit 2 (4th Avenue
exit.) Merge onto 4th Avenue. Continue on 4th Avenue to 75th
Street/Bay Ridge Parkway. Turn right onto Bay Ridge Parkway. Church will be on the right between 6th
and 7th Avenues.
